Daily Prayer to End Abortion

Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life,
And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.
I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion,
Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death
by the Resurrection of Your Son.
I am ready to do my part in ending abortion.
Today I commit myself
Never to be silent,
Never to be passive,
Never to be forgetful of the unborn.
I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement,
And never to stop defending life
Until all my brothers and sisters are protected,
And our nation once again becomes
A nation with liberty and justice
Not just for some, but for all,
Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

EWTN Pro-Life Page
Our Pro-Life page is dedicated to the memory of Joe Kearney of Moorestown NJ, a true friend of the pro-life movement. Despite an extreme dislike for cold weather, Joe peacefully prayed his rosary in front of abortion mills for many years in all kinds of weather (including rain and snow)- often struggling to finger his rosary beads due to numbness in his hands from the extreme cold. We pledge to keep alive the pro-life message in his honor and ask for his intercession in the hope that one day the senseless murder of the innocent will cease. May he rest in peace with all of the unborn souls that he fought to protect for so many years.

Pro-Life Topics
The Catholic Church teaches very clearly that human life is sacred and must be respected from conception to natural death. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being. (paragraph 2258)

Furthermore, the intentional murder of the unborn through abortion is specifically condemned:

Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person—among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life. (paragraph 2270)

Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law. (paragraph 2271)

Simply put, abortion is murder.  According to the latest statistics provided by the Guttmacher Institute, approximately 3,200 unborn children are "legally" murdered in the United States EACH DAY!  Since abortion became legal in the United States, it is estimated that 48 MILLION BABIES HAVE BEEN MURDERED in the United States under the guise of "the right to choose". Contrast this number of 48,000,000 dead people with the estimate of 6,000,000 individuals murdered in the Holocaust. To date, abortion has claimed 8x the number of victims (in the U.S. alone) than were murdered by the Nazis. Unlike the holocaust, the number of abortion victims continues to grow.  Please pause as you read this to say a prayer for the souls of the 3,200 babies that will be murdered legally in the United States over the course of the next 24 hours.

Does this upset you? If not, please ask yourself "Why not"? Many Catholics are still apathetic to the plight of  these helpless unborn children.  If you still don't care, take a look at the photos below and see the the victims of this unspeakable crime.  Many will try to tell you that these victims are not really human.  Please look at the photos and decide for yourself.

                                               Rep Henry Hyde (R-Illinois) 1924-2007

"When the time comes as it surely will, when we face that awesome moment, the final judgment, I’ve often thought, as Fulton Sheen wrote, that it is a terrible moment of loneliness. You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God - and a terror will rip through your soul like nothing you can imagine. But I really think that those in the pro-life movement will not be alone. I think there will be a chorus of voices that have never been heard in this world but are heard beautifully and clearly in the next world - and they will plead for everyone who has been in this movement. They will say to God, ‘Spare him because he loved us,’ - and God will look at you and say not, ‘Did you succeed?’ but ‘Did you try?’"  Henry Hyde

Henry Hyde's 4 Rules For Pro-Lifers
1. Don’t compromise on the right to life…Ever.
2. Respect, and work with your opposition.
3. Support other pro-lifers.
4. Never give up.

                                                  Blessed Teresa of Calcutta 1910-1997

"America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign."
Mother Teresa's Letter to the US Supreme Court on Roe v. Wade

"Abortion kills twice. It kills the body of the baby and it kills the conscience of the mother. Abortion is profoundly anti-women. Three quarters of its victims are women: Half the babies and all the mothers."

                                                   President Ronald Reagan 1911- 2004

"I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born."  Ronald Reagan, quoted in New York Times, 22 September 1980

“We have the duty to protect the life of an unborn child.”

"Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is (alive). And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

                                                               President George W. Bush

"All human life is a gift from our Creator that is sacred, unique, and worthy of protection. On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, our country recognizes that each person, including every person waiting to be born, has a special place and purpose in this world. We also underscore our dedication to heeding this message of conscience by speaking up for the weak and voiceless among us."    President George W. Bush, proclaiming Jan 18, 2009 National Sanctity of Human Life Day

Take a good look at these photos.  These are actual photos of children in the womb,  presented to Priests For Life by a team of Polish scientists.  This is who the pro-life movement is fighting for!  Remember what you saw when someone tells you that a woman should have the "right to choose".  When that supposed "right" is exercised, one of these children DIES!
